Kier, Cheryl A., and Cindy Ives. “Recommendations for a Balanced Approach
to Supporting Academic Integrity: Perspectives from a Survey
of Students, Faculty, and Tutors.” International Journal for
      Educational Integrity
, vol. 18, no. 1, Sept. 2022, pp. 1–19.

This exploratory research study looked to identify how online college students and faculty adhered to academic integrity and what recommendation they would have to improve that adherence.  The authors used a confidential and anonymous online survey that was taken by 228 undergraduate and graduate students and 78 faculty and tutors.  I'm recommending this article because it is the outcome of a rigorous research study (with significant detail on the process of the study provided in the article) and the authors are both faculty of the Athabasca University in Canada, in the College of Humanities and Social Science.

Sutherland-Smith, Wendy. Plagiarism, the Internet, and

Student Learning: Improving Academic Integrity.
       Routledge, 2008.

This book combines a theoretical understanding of plagiarism with the development of a practical model, called the plagiarism continuum, in an attempt to explain how plagiarism developed and to provide a framework for dealing with plagiarism in higher education. This book is recommended because it is innovative in its approach to the problem of plagiarism in higher education while still being thorough in presenting historical and legal information about the issue. Dr. Sutherland-Smith is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Education at Monash University in Australia.
